We will have a welcome reception on Wednesday September 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Putah Creek Lodge. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a short program to introduce the early arrivals to Davis, UC Davis, and the conference.
On Thursday September 21st, we will have reservations for parties of 12 at a number of local restaurants. One or two conference attendees will host a differently themed dinner at each restaurant. You will be able to sign up for the dinners during the day Thursday at the conference and you will be expected to meet at the restaurant at 6 pm. You will be responsible for covering the cost of the meal. These dinners are meant to help introduce people to each other that have similar research interests.
The post-conference dinner will be held Friday evening at the US Bicycle Hall of Fame, which contains a 19th century bicycle museum as well as displays concerning the history of competitive US cycling. Other opportunities will include taking your photo on a Davis high-wheeler bike like Jason here and schmoozing with conference attendees.
Coincidentally, the monthly Bike Party Davis is set to begin at 8 pm on Friday just after the conference dinner, and this group has promised to stop by the USBHOF to collect any conference attendees who are not already exhausted and who need more (bike) partying.
