Nothing gets Matt’s wheels turning like the thought of a world powered by bicycles. He studied Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at UC Berkeley where he also became involved in Berkeley Engineers And Mentors (BEAM), a STEM-focused K-12 after school mentoring program. He moved to Chicago in 2012 to pursue a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern where he develops mathematical models for the mechanics of the bicycle wheel. He serves on the board of The Recyclery, a non-profit educational community bike shop.
