Registration

All podium and poster presenters need to register. To keep costs low and the quality high for all attendees we cannot waive the fees for presenters.

Bio Information for Presenters

Please send a brief bio (no more than 1 paragraph), title of your abstract, job title, name of organization, and a 262 x 262 pixel headshot photograph in JPEG format to icsc2017@ucdavis.edu by September 10th if you’d like this information displayed on your speaker profile on the website.

Podium Presentations

Podium speakers are encouraged to use their own laptops to present but we will also have a Windows PC laptop with Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, and an up-to-date web browser which you can load your presentation to via thumbdrive.  We will have standard VGA, DisplayPort, and HDMI adapters to connect your computer to the projector. If your computer needs a special adapter you will need to bring that with you. Your slideshow should have an aspect ratio of 4:3 to display properly on the projectors.

Each podium session is 12 minutes with a 3 minute changeover time. Plan on a 10 to 11 minute talk with  1 to 2 minutes for questions. The session chair will end your talk at 12 minutes.

Poster and Lightning Talks

Poster presenters are asked to set up your posters the morning of Thursday, September 21st either during breakfast or the mid-morning break in the poster room. Your poster will remain on display there for the remainder of the conference. Presenters will stand near their poster during one of the two assigned poster sessions, either Thursday or Friday. Please retrieve your poster late in the afternoon of Friday September 22nd before the conference hall closes at 5 pm.

Posters should be 48″ x 36″ (US E size) or International Size A0 (1189 mm x 841 mm ). They can be landscape or portrait. We will provide mounting boards to which to attach your posters via provided large clips.

For the lightning talk you must prepare three slides that are compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint. Each slide will be be shown for 20 seconds, giving you a 1 minute talk. The slides will automatically transition every 20 seconds and there will be no downtime between adjacent speakers. Name the file “lastname_firstname.pptx” where “lastname” and “firstname” are replaced by the presenter’s name. These slides should be emailed to icsc2017@ucdavis.edu by September 10, 2017. Presenters who do not provide slides by this date will not have the chance to give their lightning talk before their poster session.
